Luís Cabral was the first President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau following the Portuguese coup d’Etat on April 25, 1974. This book contains unpublished texts written by Luis Cabral which describe the main events between January 1973 and the date of the unilateral independence of Guinea-Bissau. It also contains speeches given between 1973 and 1980. Being a work compiled after the death of the author, it contains, as well, detailed biographical information by the historian Ângela Coutinho, a note of intention by Cabral’s children, depositions of Cdr. Pedro Pires, former President of Cape Verde, and General Ramalho Eanes, one of the insurgent militaires of April 1974 Coup in Portugal and subsequently first democratly-elected President in the history of Portugal.Agenda:
