The 24th edition of Milano Film Festival will be held in Milan from 3 to 13 October 2019. For the second year, the artistic direction is assigned to the Oscar-winning director Gabriele Salvatores, alongside Alessandro Beretta.

Through over twenty years of history the Festival has welcomed young talents that weren’t famous yet but that, after participating to our competitions, won important awards in international festivals like Cannes and Berlin, like Ruben Östlund, Nadav Lapid, Radu Jude, Avi Mograbi, Yann Gonzalez, Gabriel Abrantes, Davy Chou, Anthony Chen. Milano Film Festival also hosted worldwide famous directors such as Jonathan Demme, Terry Gilliam, Ciprì e Maresco and Matteo Garrone, to name some.

Moreover, last year the Festival presented the Italian preview of Climax by Gaspar Noé and The Image Book by Jean-Luc Godard, both sold out, and ended with the Milanese première in Dolby Atmos audio of Roma by Alfonso Cuarón, awarded with three Oscars.

The 2019 edition of Milano Film Festival will continue to be a point of reference for indipendent cinema, to focus on new technologies, and to turn to the new generations, convinced that there is a great possibility for a dialogue between them and cinema.

The deadline for the entries is on 15 May.
