insme 11Since 2004 the International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises is working to promote and facilitate public private partnership, share of knowledge and best practices in the field of innovation and technology transfer to SMEs. As a knowledge-based network INSME can count on the support of 97 Members from 42 different countries including governments, NGOs, BSOs, intermediaries, universities and research centres.

The most important event in the life of the Network is the Annual Meeting. The forthcoming one on “Technology and Innovation for Inclusive Growth” will take place from the 26th to the 28th of May 2015 at Cape Town, South Africa co-organized by OSIBA Management (INSME Board Member).

For the first time in its life the Association holds its Annual Meeting on the African Continent and the event will be held in the stimulating framework of «Forging Enterprise 2015», a national programme to mark 20 years of small business promotion in South Africa since the introduction of the democratic government’s White Paper on small business promotion in March 1995.

This year’s event is focused on three main topics:

  • The Right Skillset for a Globally Competitive and Innovative Enterprise
  • User Driven Innovation for Sustainable Growth in a Collaborative and International Innovation Eco-System
  • Access to Finance to Stimulate Growth for SMEs.

The Annual Meeting runs through three days and will include roundtables, the International Conference, an Innovation Tour offering the opportunity to find out more about the innovation (South) African Excellences and an International Expert Training.

The Cape Town event is expected to welcome high level representatives both from the private and public sector, from NGOs and BSOs, research centers and intermediaries and more in general all actors working in the fields of innovation and technology and knowledge transfer.

Members and international delegates benefit from the expertise of high level speakers. The Annual Meeting will also be a unique opportunity to share best practices, discuss ideas in the field of innovation and technology transfer, network, identify potential partnerships and build business opportunities.

Both the organizers are intensely working to mark another important milestone in the life of the Network.

INSME is glad to welcoming international delegates at Cape Town and invites you all to monitor the official website www.2015.insme.org to get updated information related to the 2015 must-attend event.
