I am pleased to invite you to the photography exhibition on “The future of displaced Venezuelans: what about Human Rights?”, organised in collaboration with VenEuropa, from 4 to 8 June in the European Parliament.
The opening will be held on Tuesday 5 June 2018, at 18:30, in the Balcony area 1G.
Latin-America is going through a major refugee crisis as hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans flee their country, seeking economic and political stability. This is a global challenge and the EU plays a leading role in finding solutions.
The exhibition will take place in the framework of the 30th anniversary of the Sakharov Prizes. It is aimed to provoke a reflection on the precarious living conditions of people fleeing Venezuela, and the difficulties presented to host communities, which are in areas that also suffer economic hardships. The pictures were taken at the borders with Colombia, Peru, Brazil and the Antillean Islands.
