UNITED NATIONS SEVENTIETH ANNIVERSARY
Every year, we commemorate the founding of the United Nations and this year, we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Organisation under the slogan “70 years for We the Peoples”. It is an opportunity to spotlight where the UN – and the international community as a whole – needs to redouble its efforts to meet current and future challenges across the four pillars of its work: peace and security, development, humanitari- an action and human rights. “Let us use this anniversary to reflect on the lessons of seven decades, and reaffirm our commitment to serve “we the peoples” and build lives of prosperity, security and dignity for all.”
