El 3 de octubre se eligió al presidente europeo de la Delegación de la Comunidad Andina – Union europea.
Robert Biedroń (S&D, Polonia) asume el cargo de nuevo presidente de la Delegación para las Relaciones con los Países de la Comunidad Andina (DAND)
Como delegación del PE para las Relaciones con la Comunidad Andina, nuestro objetivo será reforzar los vínculos que unen a la Unión Europea y su Parlamento con los países andinos. Si bien es importante seguir desarrollando nuestras relaciones económicas y comerciales, también es esencial respetar nuestros principios y valores fundamentales compartidos.
El respeto mutuo de los derechos humanos y de los ciudadanos, la valorización del rico patrimonio cultural de estos países, así como la promoción de la diversidad y la inclusión, serán los ejes centrales de esta presidencia.
No podemos olvidar los inmensos desafíos compartidos a los que se enfrentan tanto la UE como América Latina, como la lucha por una sociedad más equitativa y justa, la urgente necesidad de abordar el cambio climático y promover un modo de vida más sostenible, así como la necesidad de combatir con éxito el crimen organizado y el tráfico de drogas.
Estamos vinculados a los principios de la diplomacia parlamentaria. La dimensión parlamentaria de nuestras relaciones con los países andinos debe convertirse en un pilar fundamental y estoy firmemente convencido de que en los próximos años podremos fortalecer nuestros vínculos y llevar la cooperación política y administrativa con los parlamentos de los países andinos al siguiente nivel.

Robert Biedroń (S&D, Poland) taking office as newly elected Chair of the Delegation for relations with the countries of the Andean Community (DAND)
As the EP delegation for relations with the Andean Community, we will aim to reinforce the ties that link the European Union and its Parliament to the Andean countries. While it is important to further develop our economic and trade relations, it is also essential to respect our shared fundamental values and principles.
The mutual respect for human and citizens’ rights, the valorisation of the rich cultural heritage of these countries, as well as the promotion of diversity and inclusiveness will be at the heart of this presidency.
We cannot forget the immense shared challenges facing both the EU and Latin America, such as the struggle for a more equitable and just society, the urgent need to address climate change and to promote a more sustainable way of life, as well as the necessity to successfully tackle organised crime and drug trafficking.
We are bound to the principles of parliamentary diplomacy.
The parliamentary dimension of our relations with the Andean countries must become a major pillar, and I am strongly convinced that in the upcoming years we will be able to strengthen our bond and take the political and administrative cooperation with the parliaments of the Andean countries to the next level.
