PARAGONEUROPE is delighted to invite you to a press conference which will launch the KICs High- Level Event to be held under Malta’s Presidency of the Council in 2017.
Starting on January 1, 2017, for the first time since its accession to the European Union (EU) in 2004, Malta will assume the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. It will take over the Presidency in a very complex period for the EU integration. Some of the key challenges that the Maltese Presidency will have to address include migration, the fight against terrorism, modernising the single market and the package related to the review of the EU’s multi-annual financial framework. Also, Malta is the last Mediterranean country to hold the Presidency before 2020, which represents an opportunity for the region.
Over a panel discussion of one hour, speakers will illustrate how the three priorities of Malta’s Presidency will feed into the larger Europe 2020 Strategy, focusing on Mediterranean, Maritime and Migration. The EIT and KICs, in partnership with Paragon Europe, will also launch the High-Level Conference on Circular Economy, Urbanisation and Access to Finance under the Auspices of the Maltese Presidency which will gather key stakeholders from national governments, corporate and civil society.
