Dear INSME Members,

we would like to draw your attention to the 4th World Forum of Local Economic Development organized by INSME Members SEBRAE and UNCTAD, among others.

From the 17th to the 20th of October 2017 national, regional, local government officials, practitioners and other stakeholders from all over the world will meet in Praia, Cabo Verde to discuss, analyse and share experiences on the relevance of Local Economic Development (LED) as a vehicle for the Sustainable Development Goals localization, and specifically towards more sustainable, inclusive and equal societies.

The forum will explore three main thematic areas:

Integrated and Cohesive Territories – With a focus on enabling policies and frameworks for socio-economic and territorial cohesion and integrated rural development as a means for regional competitiveness and territorial equality.

Sustainable and Inclusive Economies – The forum will analyse enabling frameworks for Social and Solidarity economy (SSE) and other alternative economic paradigms. It will also explore the role of SMEs and their networks.

Resilient and peaceful Societies – The forum will discuss how LED has a major role to play in bridging transition from emergency response to recovery and sustainable development processes.

More information about the 4th World Forum of Local Economic Development is available at this page and the organizers invite interested participants to register here by the 16th of October.

With best regards,

INSME Secretariat
